Course structure

Duration: 1 year (in conjuction with the Diploma of Hospitality Management)

    • SITEEVT001 Source and use information on the events industry
    • SITEEVT003 Coordinate on-site event registrations
    • SITEEVT008 Manage event staging components
    • SITEEVT010 Manage on-site event operations
    • SITXCCS007 Enhance customer service experiences
    • SITXFIN003 Manage finances within a budget
    • SITXHRM003 Lead and manage people
    • SITXMGT001 Monitor work operations
    • SITXMGT002 Establish and conduct business relationships
    • SITXMGT003 Manage projects
    • SITXWHS002 Identify hazards, assess and control safety risk
  • Elective units:
    • Various units chosen to suit the desired outcome, contact our Operations team for a detailed list of units.
    • Includes RSA and First Aid certificates (valued at $140)

Delivery: Face-to-face classes with online assessment.

Entry requirements and eligibility

  • The Diploma of Hospitality Management is an initiative of and funded by the Queensland Government, as the Diploma of Event Management is run in conjuction, the same eligibility applies.
  • Students must be aged 15 years or above.
  • No longer enrolled at school.
  • A Queensland resident i.e. Australian citizen or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland.
  • Not have previously completed or currently enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher qualification (exceptions are made for qualifications completed at school).
  • Access to a laptop and internet.

Further learning pathways

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available on most Prestige Service Training qualifications. If you have completed formal or informal training and have knowledge, skills and employment experience in this area, you may apply for RPL.

 

You will be asked to provide evidence to support your application and our Operations team will assist you through the RPL assessment process.

 

Credit is also available for this qualification. If you have completed previous study in this qualification, or an equivalent, you can provide a copy of your transcript/s from your earlier study and we will conduct a credit assessment.

  • Student ID (for current high school students)
  • Photo of a Green Medicare Card, Passport or Birth Certificate in colour
  • Evidence of QLD residency dated within 6 months (Driver’s license, concession card or utility bill or bank statement with your address on it)
  • YOU WILL NEED a USI number – please visit www.usi.gov.au to look up or create your USI number
  • Concession ONLY: DVA, HCC or PCC card details if you want to be eligible for concessional prices
  • A parent close by to also sign if under the age of 18!
