Why take First Aid courses?

First aid training prepares you for the unexpected

Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. But are you equipped to help?

Can you keep a cool head in emergencies? Or would you panic and be scared?

First aid training, which includes CPR, prepares you for the unexpected and allows you to help save lives.

Statistics show that 6 out of 10 deaths from injuries could have been prevented if the victims had been given first aid before the emergency responders arrived.

The WHS Act requires all Australian employers or a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) to have an adequate number of people trained in First Aid available in the workplace.

Our ‘PRESTIGE-ous’ course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to confidently and correctly perform First Aid on a range of injuries and illnesses, particularly in the workplace.

Upon successfully completing the program, you will earn a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit you’ve earned.

Prior to the course commencement date, we will provide you with pre-course literature to be submitted a week before the start date (this will allow time for any revisions that may be needed).

So, what are you waiting for? Invest in your future, and get ready to increase your employment opportunities today!

What are the benefits of First Aid knowledge?

Save a Life

In a world full of uncertainties, knowing how to provide first aid can save lives, especially those of your loved ones.

Emergency services can face delays when responding to situations, particularly if in a remote or isolated site.

If you have the first response knowledge, that could be the difference that the casualty needs to hold on to until the medical professionals arrive.

You can provide initial support and care when it’s needed the most and save a life.

Reduce Recovery Time

When an injured person receives first aid response, it helps reduce the amount of time they need to recover.

You can help prevent permanent disability after an incident.

Prevent Medical Emergency from Getting Worse

First aid can help prevent a medical emergency from deteriorating while waiting for medical professionals to arrive.

If you’re equipped with first aid knowledge, you can save someone who’s choking or bleeding profusely.

You can recognize the signs of stroke, cardiac conditions, or poisoning and prevent the situation from worsening until they can receive appropriate professional help.

Reduce and Relieve Pain

The casualty may be in a great deal of pain after an accident. If you can apply first aid treatment, you can relieve their pain and help them calm down. Reducing pain goes beyond physical pain—you can also provide them with emotional and mental health support.

Empower People

When you’re equipped with first aid knowledge, you don’t panic and cower in times of crisis.

Because of your nationally recognised training, you’re confident that you can respond accordingly when something bad happens and provide care to others when needed.

You understand how important it is to give first aid, especially in life-threatening situations, even before you call for emergency services.

Improve Standard of Living

Getting trained in first aid can increase your standard of living.

Because you’re equipped with the proper safety knowledge, you’re also more aware of your lifestyle habits and how you ensure safety at home, workplace, and community.

How First Aid training improves your job prospects

Can you improve your job prospects with first aid training? Yes!

If you’re working in the healthcare sector or plan to do so, first aid training is required.

Non-medical fields where you have to take care of other people, like childcare, law enforcement, and firefighting, first aid certifications are also necessary.

Regardless of the field, employers prefer their employees to be trained in first aid. So, you’ll find it incredibly useful when looking for a new job or promotion.

You can stand out among the competition

First aid is a skill that most hiring managers and employers are looking for. In a competitive job market, having this qualification can help you stand out among other candidates.

Your training arms you with transferrable soft skills, valuable knowledge, and certain traits that employers find appealing.

With a nationally recognised training certification added to your resume, you have more to offer than other applicants who have similar qualifications to you.

Your training shows your ability to handle stress

Completing first aid training can demonstrate that you can handle stressful situations, adapt to changing circumstances, and remain calm even in emergencies and crises.

It shows your ability to problem-solve even under pressure, become a leader, and take quick action.

You become a valuable asset who can save a co-worker’s life, help in workplace infection control, and protect your employer from litigation.

It’s a sign that you value self-improvement

Enrolling in nationally recognised training courses like first aid and CPR courses shows that you value self-improvement and are willing to invest in yourself.

It also demonstrates that you have initiative, which is a valuable trait of an employee.
