International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th, is an important occasion to reflect on the progress women have made, the challenges that remain, and the work still ahead. The 2025 theme, “Accelerate Action“, calls for a global push to speed up gender equality efforts.

The Importance of “Accelerating Action”
The theme Accelerate Action, reminds us that achieving gender equality requires swift and sustained efforts. While progress has been made, barriers still exist that prevent women from reaching their full potential.
The current rate of progress shows we will be waiting until the year 2158 (roughly five generations from now), to reach gender parity, according to the International Women’s Day website and data from the World Economic Forum.
