Why you need a CPR refresher course

Help save a life and boost your career

Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time—are you equipped to help?

The WHS Act requires all Australian employers (PCBUs) to have an adequate number of people in the workplace trained in First Aid, including providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

This ‘PRESTIGE-ous’ CPR course called HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation equips participants with the skills and knowledge to confidently and correctly perform CPR on a range of situations.

Upon successfully completing the program, you will earn a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit you have completed.

Because providing CPR isn’t something you constantly practice, it is required to renew your certification every 12 months. This will help ensure that your knowledge and skills in CPR remain fresh and updated.

Aside from helping save a life, having a CPR certification can also boost your career! You are more hirable and attractive to prospective employers. It can also improve your standing in your current company.

So, what are you waiting for? Invest in your future, and get ready to increase your employment opportunities today!

What are the benefits of CPR knowledge?

Skills and knowledge about CPR can go a long way. Here are some benefits:

Save a life

CPR can save lives. It can increase a person’s chance of survival. You can help save a person who has a cardiac arrest, someone who is choking, someone who is drowning, or an accident victim.

You can also understand and learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and save the life of someone who suffers a cardiac arrest.

CPR is not limited to heart attacks. It can also be used when someone is choking. You can help adults, children, and infants—even yourself!

Assist with an accident

Accidents happen anytime, anywhere, whether that’s at work or on the road. If you’re equipped with CPR qualification training, you can assist with the situation.

You can help by providing CPR and first aid until emergency medical help arrives.

Meet job requirements

Many types of jobs in Australia require CPR and First Aid certifications, such as the following:

  • Health care providers
  • Electricians
  • Safety personnel
  • Police
  • Airline employees
  • Athletic trainers
  • Lifeguards

In some industries, certifications may not be required but are highly recommended, such as in education and construction.

Even when CPR certification isn’t required, it can bump up your resume and make you a more attractive candidate to prospective employers.
